about

Originally completed in 1999, and released in 2003 on Edgetone Records.

This record features some of my earliest 4-track recordings, recorded between 1994 and 1997. These songs were alternatingly inspired by experimental/electronic/industrial music with rhythms (such as Throbbing Gristle) or intended to be weird pop songs. A few of them were released on small-batch cassettes during those years, however several of the original songs were never finished.

Since the 4-track cassette recorder I was using at the time worked at double speed, I used to enjoy placing the cassettes in regular tape decks to hear two of the 4 instrument tracks in either forward or reverse. Here these tracks are mixed specifically for half-speed listening, and in the original spirit, several of them are also backwards.
